Audioplex Line Level Volume Control

These hard-to-find controls do just what their name implies: Turn the dial and variably attenuate the volume of the signal passing through the control. The control is very smooth and fluid to operate, and introduces no popping, clicking, or other noise into the signal.

At its fully clockwise (on) position, the control passes 100% signal level through. At the fully counter-clockwise (off) position, the control completely mutes the signal. This is an infinite control, meaning that there are no "steps" between off and on, the sound level smoothly increases as you turn the knob. This control has an audio taper, meaning that the increase in sound level seems proportionate with the amount turned, at the low end and at the high end.
