The Passive Phase Coupler (PPC) is a small electronic device that is designed to enhance the communication reliability between devices that use the Universal Powerline Bus (UPB) method of communication (such as PulseWorx devices). It couples UPB communication signals generated on one phase of the powerline onto the other phase of the powerline. The PPC is designed to be used in a typical residential 120/240VAC split-phase electrical environment.
UPB is for single phase 120/240 VAC, 60 Hz systems. The HLC Phase Coupler mounts by the circuit breaker box and is used to connect the signal from L1 to L2 within the circuit breaker box.
A Phase Coupler is a strongly recommended component of an HLC System. Its use increases the reliability of the UPB signal.
The LED on the Phase Coupler shows that it is working.
The SPR Split-Phase Repeater is a small electronic device that is designed to enhance the communication reliability between devices that use the Universal Powerline Bus (UPB) method of communication (such as PulseWorx devices). It is designed to be used in a typical residential 120/240VAC split-phase electrical environment. The SPR comes in both plug-in and wire-in models. The main purpose of the SPR is to increase powerline communication reliability by taking UPB messages transmitted on one phase (leg) of the electrical system and strongly repeating them on to the other phase (leg).
Wire-in and Plug-in Models
The SPR comes in both plug-in and wire-in models. The SPR-1 is designed to install in a suitable junction box and wire to two phases (circuits) and neutral of the circuit breaker panel. The SPR-3 is designed to plug into any 3-socket 240V electrical outlet. The SPR-4 is designed to plug into any 4-socket 240V electrical outlet.
The ILC In-Line Choke is a small wire-in electronic device that is designed to be installed to keep electrical noise generated by certain electrical devices off of the powerline which interfere with the PulseWorx products' ability to communicate with one another.
The PLF-15 Powerline Filter is a plug-in device designed to reduce electrical noise generated by certain electrical devices from reaching the powerline which might interfere with PulseWorx products' ability to communicate with one another.
The PLF-15 comes with a power cord that is designed to be plugged into a standard electrical outlet with the noisy electrical device plugged into it. The PLF-15 is rated for 120VAC electrical devices that draw 15 amps or less. It contains two electrical outlets for plugging in multiple devices or power strips.
The PLF-5 Powerline Filter is a small plug-in device designed to reduce electrical noise generated by certain electrical devices from reaching the powerline which might interfere with PulseWorx products' ability to communicate with one another.
The PLF-5 is designed to be plugged into a standard electrical outlet with the noisy electrical device plugged into it. The PLF-5 is rated for 120VAC electrical devices that draw 3.8 Amps or less. It contains a single electrical outlet for plugging in a single device or power strip.
The Noise Filter - Isolator, model ZNF, is used to reduce or eliminate noise or attenuating devices that interferes with the transmission of UPB signals. Switching power supplies and other devices that run at frequencies between 4-40 kHz may interfere with UPB signals.
The ZNF Noise Filter - Isolators are installed between the UPB device or Line and the noise or attenuating source. They block noise above 4 kHz and should be compatible with all power line technologies. They can also be used to block the attenuative effect of highly capacitive devices, such as Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS).
When installed inconjunction withUniversal Powerline Bus (UPB) home automation products, Universal Inverting Phase Couplers make a highly reliable system even better.
Besides UPB signals, these Universal Phase Couplers also pass X10 andbroadband frequencies, and thus are able to address mixed technology applications with only one device per home.
Model ZPC Universal Inverting Phase Couplers are designed with LEDs that indicate proper connection and operation.
ModelZPCI-W -- Wire-in Universal Inverting Phase Coupler is designed for mounting inside a junction box
Model ZPCI-B -- Breaker-box Mount Universal Inverting PhaseCoupler is designed to be mounted inside most standard power centers that have available space for a 220V circuit breaker.
