The devices on this page filter, amplify, and block the X-10 signal in various ways. They are used to improve signal transmission.

Plug In Noise Filter
In some installations it is possible for an electrical appliance to generate random electrical 'noise' through its line cord. This random electrical noise may interfere with proper command signal transmission. The offending appliance is plugged into this interference filter, which is then plugged into a receptacle, thereby filtering out stray noise for free and clear command signal propagation. Dimensions of 6288 are 1.426' x 2.922' x 2.062'.
This device may be wired on the LOAD side of any DHC Switch or Dimming Module (except 6381 or 6383), or on the LINE side of any fixture using an electronic ballast, a low-voltage ballast, or any noise generating source. The 6287 prevents interference generated by fixture components fixture components from interfering with DHC signals. Dimensions of 6287 are 1.578'"x 1.850'"x 0.75'"
Leviton's New DHC System Amplifier/Repeater/Coupler Module With Test Signal Generator Assures Sufficient Command Signal Strength Throughout 3-Wire Residential Wiring Systems For Proper DHC Network Operation
Leviton's new DHC module performs a variety of functions to ensure outstanding DHC system performance and reliability. The module couples transmitter (programmer and controller) signals generated on the 120V leg where the transmitter draws power onto the other leg in a120/240V residential wiring system. The module also amplifies and repeats command signals to maintain proper signal strength throughout the DHC network. Leviton's exclusive Intellisense (gated automatic gain control) feature helps ensure top performance even when noise is present on the AC powerline. The module provides convenient ON/OFF test signal transmission capability. This allows for easy signal strength verification at individual module locations with Leviton's Cat. No. 6386 Signal Strength Indicator.
Amplifier and signal test transmitter functions assure proper DHC command and network operation in 3-wire residential wiring systems. The module should be installed at the main panel with its own dedicated 15A D.P. circuit breaker or two15A S.P. breakers equipped with handle tie. An HCA02-10E is recommended for every DHC installation.

Signal Attenuator
The installation of Signal Attenuator attenuates ('knocks down') external noiseand signal levels entering the DHC network. It must be used in conjunction witha 6201 System Amplifier to boost the command signals within the DHC network. Dimensions of 6285 are 1.387" x 4.125" x 2.693". Installs just like the 6299.
The 6289 Noise Reducer filters electrical 'noise' and signals with frequencies above and below the 121 kHz signal. The 6289 may be installed at the noise or signal source or at themodule affected by the interference. Depending on the source of the interference, the 6289 may be wired phase to neutral or phase to phase. Dimensions of 6289 are 1.168' x 2.600'.
Bridge helps assuresufficient signal strength throughout 3-wire systems. The Signal Bridge couplerthe command signal onto the 120V legs of the power system to ensure sufficient command signal strength throughout the command network. Use of the 6299 is recommended for all installations. The wiring diagram shows the proper method for coupling a typical residential 120/240V system. When used in the same DHC network as a 6201 system Amplifier, the 6299 Signal Bridge should NOT be in the same panel or within 10 feet of the 6201. Dimension of 6299 is 2.693' x 4.125' x 1.387'.
The multi-phase blocking coupler is installed between the incoming electrical service and the service panel. The filter/coupler is ideal for use in apartment buildings, condominiums, attached-unit dwellings and homes sharing the same side of the electrical transformer to keep extraneous electronic noise and signals from entering or leaving the DHC network.
