It is possible to send infrared signals over the same coaxial cable that is carrying an antenna or cable TV signal. It is
not possible to do this over a coaxial cable carrying
satellite signals. There are several incompatible "schemes" for IR over coax. Xantech and Channel Vision use a compatible 0 volt at rest method that requires a power supply at each infrared receiver. Open House and Channel Plus use a 12VDC always on method that can power IR receivers from the central location. They are
not compatible with Xantech and Channel Vision IR over Coax systems.
