Video Distribution through a multiswitch

This application note describes how a DSS multiswitch is use as the main video hub.

The diagram below shows a multiswitch as the primary video distribution device. Typically this is done when the user exeeds the output capabilities of the dish or built in multiswitch or need to inject cable, anttenna or modulated feeds into the system. This set up will work for round or oval DSS dishes. Any tv fed from this type of multiswitch can feed a standard or high-def reciever. It can also feed standard TVs that do not have recievers as long as there are either modulated signals, an off air antenna or cable hooked into the terrestrial inputs of the multiswitch. If you require both feeds at any location a diplexer will be needed to split the satelite feed and the CATV feeds from eachother. Note: Direct Tivo's have dual tuner capabilities that require two downstream feeds and one upstream feed to share the content to other rooms. This would require running three coax cables to that room.
