Powerline Control Systems has developed a high quality X-10 compatible wall switch that is a low cost alternative to hard-wired lighting systems. The wall switch can be retrofitted in existing homes to allow remote control capability.

The Smart Switch contains a EEPROM-based microprocessor, providing a solid state design that allows advantages that are not available in any other X-10 compatible products. Advanced programming permits the user to enable or disable the unit's response to key X-10 commands. A small green LED light serves both as a night light and as a feedback indicator during the programming process.

If you like the ease of installation and simple "wireless" method of control that the X-10 protocol provides, but think that the switches should be "smarter" and easier to operate, then these switches are for you.

Wall-Switch Dimmers

The Preset-dim command allows the lighting to be set to any level with only one command. Controllers and software by HomeVision by CSI, JDS, OMNI, ECS, and LYNX currently support the Preset-dim command.

The high power capability can power virtually any incandescent or magnetic low voltage load. Available in 600 and 1000 watt (VA) models. The Smart Switch can be wired for multi-way control with one or more matching decora style slave wall switches.

• Previous State Restored-The unit returns to the previous brightness level and on/off state if power is lost and then restored.
• MicroStep-Lights can be brightened or dimmed in 1/200 increments.
• Multi-Way Control-Output can be controlled by one or multiple standard Decora style slave wall switches.
• New with Version 3.0:Dimming switches can be programmed to be non-dimming for use with flourescent lights, etc. Thus, the "relay" version of the wall-switch (SS1F5*) has been discontinued.
