Introduction to TechWire

We've spent years locating sources for all the cables, wall-plates, punch-down panels, tools, and other miscellaneous equipment necessary to completely wire a home for the future. You can find a few of these products at your local home improvement store, and through various other Home Automation outlets, but only HomeTech Solutions carries a complete selection, including our own application notes and installation procedures!

• TechWire is not a proprietary standard. It is our name for a unique collection of industry standard off-the-shelf cables and connectors.
• TechWire is flexable. You buy only what you need, and configure it exactly the way you want. By meeting some simple guidelines, your installation can be compatible with CEBus, Lonworks, 10Base-T, 100Base-T, ISDN, or any other standard you wish.
• TechWire isn't expensive. It's just a way to buy everything you need at one place instead of hunting all over creation for items you "hope" have the correct specifications and will work together.
• TechWire doesn't include "active" devices such as infrared pickups or RF amplifiers. You can use industry standard devices of your choice for these functions. All jacks have the same universal, improved design with 110-style termination, "Cutting Ledge" feature for one-step termination and trim, and color coded wiring labels for faster, more reliable wire placement. Connector modules come in 6 colors, and jacks in 12 colors (TIA-606 compatible).

TechWire modules are UL listed, meet FCC Part 68 requirements, and comply with NEC Article 800. All jacks comply with TIA-568A electrical, mechanical, and transmission requirements; Category-rated jacks fully comply with all requirements of their designated TIA-568A Category.

TechWire Jacks Offer Simplified Installation

Strip 3" of cable jacket, position wires according to desired color code. Center channel lets you preserve wire twisting to well within .5" of the termination point.	With punchdown tool and 110 IDC blade with cutting edge turned outward, terminate first pair--the 'cutting ledge' helps trim the wire as you terminate, saving you a step!	As with the first pair, position and terminate each subsequent pair, one at a time until termination is complete (shown).	Place strain relief caps. The jack is now ready to be snapped into any TechWire frame.
