In the past, HomeTech has carried many versions of analog and digital video recorders. While these units technically "worked", it seemed like there was always some important feature missing or certain aspects of their performance was unacceptable. So we decided to stop carrying any DVRs and begin and exhaustive search for a usable product line. After more than a year and dozens of evaluations we are happy to announce that we finally found a unit that meets our demanding requirements!
We had many requirements this unit had to meet, but the most important was that the unit had to be programmable, and usable, over the internet or an internal network. We have seen many machines that have a network port, but the usability over the network (much less the internet) was inevitably either crippled (limited or no programmability), or so slow that it was essentially unusable. When evaluating this unit, we did what many of our customers want to do with their DVR...we hooked it up, programmed the network connection, and closed the door to the shelf where the unit is hidden. We then programmed and used the unit without ever going back to the hiding place! We even cought video of two thefts behind our store!
