How Do I ... Run S-Video Through Coax? WikiPedia info about S-Video An s-video signal is really two separate signals (luminance and chrominance), each needs to be carried in its own 75 ohm coaxial style cable. Pre-terminated S-Video cables (like those above) contain these two separate coaxial cables in one cable bundle. But each of these two signals can also be carried over standard RG6 coaxial cable. In fact, two RG6 cables will carry an S-Video signal great distances. (We've heard of runs in excess of 500 feet.) All you have to do is separate the two signals and adapt them to an "F" connector. (And recombine them at the other end.) We have three products that will separate an s-video signal: Small plug-in adapters (left) with one s-video plug and two RCA jacks. Cables, of various lengths, with an s-video plug on one end, and two BNC plugs on the other. A special decora wallplate (pictured above) that has an s-video jack on one side, and two female F connectors on the other (inside the wall). Quickport inserts with RCA or BNC connectors, and the above wallplate provide many options for running s-video through your walls.

ChannelPlus now offers video and audio distribution with full IR control over CAT 5 with the new SVC-10. The SVC-10 can send S-video or composite video with either digital or analog audio to any room up to 1000’ away. The new SVC-10 is designed for CAT 5 or 5e structured wire installations. The SVC-10 is compatible with both NTSC and PAL video standards.
